I grew up on a dairy farm in Underberg, KZN, South Africa.  The daughter of a photographer (a PROPER one who shot with film and developed his own images) and a botanical artist.  My dad instilled in me an interest in photography, but unfortunately it was only after he passed away that my casual interest became an all-consuming passion. 

My biggest regret is that I didn't pursue photography earlier.  Life is a collage of images waiting to be captured!  I only began shooting in about 2013 when I gained wisdom with age and decided it was safer to stay on the ground than to be on a horse, careering around a polocrosse field with the rest of my family.  I then had nothing to do while they played, so I picked up a camera to distract myself from the stress of watching my husband and three young children playing this nerve-wracking sport.

I now live on a farm in Swartberg.  My husband and grown up children still play polocrosse, but my photography has diversified to include polo, motor sports, canoeing, functions, cycling, motorbikes and anything else I can find.

My photography serves a dual purpose.  To spend time doing what I love, but more importantly, in this day of social media, to present the Word of God to those who normally would not be confronted with it.

Split second captures and being as close to the action as feasibly possible. I strive to capture natural action and genuine emotion. My style is based on the beauty of real people and natural movement rather than stiff poses.  The challenge to capture the next unique moment keeps me shooting.
